Bobath Scotland is a Scottish registered charity providing intensive and effective therapy to children with cerebral palsy.
They employ professional therapists skilled in the Bobath Concept.
Children are referred through NHS paediatric consultants. Since opening in 1995, Bobath Scotland has provided this important Service to over 500 children.
My son, James, benefited from a referral to Bobath Scotland in late 2006.
The therapy that James received focused on developing his independence and we were given exercises that could be incorporated into everyday life.
For example, rather than looking for the best seat and straps for securing James, they worked on his posture and he is now able to sit on a bench unsupported.
Similarly, rather than getting James dressed whilst lying down, we were encouraged to sit him up and involve him. The change was incredible – he now loves to help us by lifting his arms & legs & pulling his socks, shirts & trousers off!
